This GeoPortal offers seamless access to geospatial terrain data exclusively within South Africa. Delivering fast access to relaible data in an easy-to-read table format with detailed metadata and technical reports available on the response page.

How To Navigate:
  • On the Left: Select your query type (point, multipoint, or polygon (area) statistics).
  • In the Top Center: Browse and choose products from our catalog.
  • On the Right: Watch your cart build with real-time updates on selected items and costs.
How It Works:
  • Select Query Type: To select locations for spatial queries, including Single Point, Mulitple Points, or Polygons (area).
  • Build Your Cart: Browse our extensive catalog of terrain products and add them to your cart with real-time cost updates.
  • Checkout: Securely complete your order using PayFast.
  • Receive Your Data: Access your purchased data in tabulated format, that can be downloaded in CSV and/or Excel format.

Query Options:
  • Point: Select an individual address, specific coordinate pair, or upload a point using various file formats (.xlsx, .csv). You can also set a point directly on the map interface.
  • Multi-Point: Choose multiple points with customizable buffering options. Draw or upload multipoint selections for comprehensive analysis, or upload points using file formats (.xlsx, .csv).
  • Polygon (Area) Statistics: Draw polygons directly on the interface, upload existing polygons using various file formats (.shp, .kml), or define extents for detailed zonal statistics. You can also use buffers with points to compute statistics over your area of interest.

  • Interaction Limit: Each point or polygon query counts as a single interaction type.
  • Coordinate Precision: Ensure that the input coordinates are rounded to four decimal places and provided in Geographic Degrees using the WGS84 coordinate system.
  • Multi-Point Selection: When selecting multiple points on the map, limit selections to fewer than 800 points.
  • Polygon Draw: Limit the amount of polygons drawn on the map to fewer than 50 polygons, with additional area restrictions of 5km² per polygon.
  • Upload Polygons: One file maximum upload, with the same limits as the polygon draw, applies.
  • File Uploads: Uploaded CSV or Excel files must contain fewer than 801 rows including headers. Each file must conform to the following naming convention for columns: ID, custom unique identifier (optional), latitude, and longitude.
